HELIX : spirals for pasteurizing and/or cooling



A complete system for the thermal treatment of products in flexible package after they’ve been hot filled, that is made of:

 

1.1  A system for loading the product to the hold spiral, whose height from ground is 1200mm.

1.2  Holding spiral made of a stainless steel cylinder in which a belt winds around a revolving drum having a diameter of 2000mm and  being 3000mm high. Temperature is maintained by a spry-jet of water heated at 95°C and distributed to the whole length of the belt through a centrifugal recirculation pump and a line of  nozzles. Temperature is regulated by a modulating valve which directly injects steam into recirculating water.  Integrated to the structure is a tank which collects water at the bottom and works as storage tank for  the recirculating pump.

The excess water in the tank is drained through an overflow pipe.

1.3  A system for carrying over the product from the holding spiral to the cooling spiral.

1.4  A cooling spiral made of a stainless steel cylinder in which a belt winds around a revolving drum having a diameter  of 3000mm and  being 3000mm high. The cooling process happens thanks to a water recirculating system at 30-35°C applied to the whole length of the belt through pumps and nozzles.

The temperature of cooling water is regulated by a modulating valve which sends part of the flow to the cooling towers, the flow returns from the cooling columns to the bottom tank, and the loss of water by evaporation  is recovered by adding well water through level control. Constant pressure to the nozzles is assured by a pressure regulator that regulates the speed of the recirculating pumps through an inverter.

   1.5  A system for downloading the product with complete drying of surfaces; height from the ground 500mm.

1.6  Control and supervision electrical board through PLC and HMI interface on touch screen 12’’  panel, recording of all data on memory card with integrated remote assistance.

 

The framework is made entirely of stainless steel and supports the protective  panels. The plant does not need a cabin or building substructure, and can be assembled either indoor or outdoor on any typical industrial floor.
